Minimalism

1970s - Present

With Minimalism, art was reduced to the simplest of elements - a line, a chalk smear, a blank canvas ... the idea was to create something that means absolutely nothing. Well, not nothing exactly, it was more of a "what you see is what you get" type of art. And hey, who can argue with that?

Important Artists (selected list):
  • Kelly, Ellsworth.
  • Stella, Frank
